It's definitely a valid critique that there were too many climbing sections in the game, but for some reason that little addition immersed me into the game so much more to the point I never got bored of it. The added climbing mechanics of not having to press 'X' to jump to each ledge but instead being able to move your joystick to have Nathan Drake reach out to nearby ledges helped increase the fluidity and cinematic of the climbs. First of all, kudos for beating it on Crushing, I didn't have the guts to after how insanely difficult Uncharted 1-3 were, ended up playing the final one on Normal to take it easy.įor some reason climbing in Uncharted 4 was the only one I didn't get sick of, despite there being so much more of it. If you haven't played it - do it, an all time classic game. I also am not a huge trophy collector but I do think that (after some palate cleansers) I could revisit on an easier difficulty to aim for a platinum. Having said all this, it's such a fun game, key word is fun - I rarely bother replaying games and had a good time finally climbing the 'crushing' mountain. Perhaps because it was a replay but the wow factor of the graphics and setting made it less amazing. Per the tldr, I'd say the biggest criticism is there was a lot of climbing without really having to put in effort or think too much.

This took me too long and was a classic example of almost clearing it so many times before getting sloppy. The last bit I struggled with was the hardest - when you find the boat graveyard and start up on some elevated rocks/land then have to make your way into the hull of one of the wrecked boats. Another one was inside a fancy house where you are following the muddy footsepts, with a heavily armed machine gun guy as the first attacker, once you kill everyone you go through a blocked door to keep on their tail. They were (light spoilers at best) a part where you start on a cliff, get up into some scrub and have to work your way through (lots of tropical bushes to hide in, ropes to swing on) - its hard to describe this particular bit. PS5 ran it very well, I amped up the difficulty to crushing and didn't find it too bad - there was perhaps 3 sections that took too long though I found that once I passed them I realized I was right up to the last couple of guys so many times before failing. After watching the latest bond, I felt like a bit of classic action/adventure so fired this up again, I'm also partial to pirate/tropic based things so this checks a lot of boxes. The atmosphere of the game, particularly the flashbacks with Drake as a kid, was just great.
Uncharted 4 time to beat Ps4#
I loved it on ps4 and the graphics at the time below me away. Not much to be said that hasn't already, it's a great game.
Uncharted 4 time to beat series#
Graphics, narrative and continuation/end of the series was all done well - the one gripe I had replaying is too much climbing (I've heard it was to ease up on the copious amounts of killing Drake did in previous games), though I may only feel that way as it was a replay - anyone else agree?

TLDR: A great game that is just a lot of good old fashioned fun.
